The annual "Night of Science" aims to bring together researchers in the UNR Faculty to create a space for critical, cross-disciplinary dialogue and learning.
This year, the focus is on the impact of extraordinary and/or unexpected conditions on research projects. From unusual weather conditions such as extreme drought or floods to pandemics and unpredictable politics, field research can be fraught with challenges and opportunities for mishap. At the Night of Science we would like to explore how our doctoral candidates, but also the supervisors are dealing with this situation. The main question that arises is:
How does the increase in extraordinary or unexpected conditions affect the planning, process and results of doctoral research projects?
We look forward to an enriching discussion with members of our faculty, in which we will share our experiences, learnings and thoughts on this important aspect of research. .
