Content
In the age of alternative facts and fake news, the ability to talk about science clearly and compellingly is perhaps more critical than ever. But what is your message in the first place? And how do you communicate it effectively? Who is your target audience, and how do you connect with them?
In this workshop you will learn about the potential of various social media types and then determine which channel is most appropriate given your unique message and who you want to reach. Different audiences need different tones.
You will then be instructed on how to produce a social media content in a structured and organised way and create several short short pieces of content, ranging from short videos, podcast clips and texts. This can then be used as a starting point for future projects in the field of environmental science communication.
This hands-on workshop will help you:
• identifying your audience
• finding channels to communicate your science on social media
• growing an audience
• creating short video, text and audio formats
• organise your workflow
Teaching methods
• interactive input by the trainer
• hands-on sessions producing content
• discussions
• group work
Please bring your smartphone or a laptop. You will need to conduct research and possibly create short videos during the workshop.
